Chandra Shekhar Dutta

Chandra Shekhar Dutta, is from Jharkhand Dhanbad. He graduated in acting from FTII, Pune. From a very humble background he got into Art qualifying competitions around with a best actor from FTII Jaya Bachchan scholarship.

He has been active in Mumbai since 2008 with a debutant film error 404. He worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ram Gopal Verma, Santosh Sivan and Shyam Benegal. OTTs like Laakhon mein ek season 2 as village lead Gandharva on Amazon Prime, Nakaab as Vinod Amre [Esha Gupta’s husband] on mxplayer and Finally KHAKEE- the Bihar chapter as Mantri which was top show for Netflix consecutively 4 months made him a recognized face. His due was left with extreme sincere work he has been giving with his Craft and persona which finally broke all records as main negative Preacher in THE KERALA STORY.

About Acting and beliefs :

I believe in extreme transformation. Gained 15kgs for Khakee- the Bihar Chapter and parallely shooting for other roles which needed shredded body with a gap.

Transformation means complete personality change. I don’t believe in behavioral approaches but situational impromptu and spirutual artistic part of acting with changes in traits.

About training :

I believe techniques and craft make you grow longer and lifetime learner. Your senses will never be colored. It helps you to maintain both in exciting days as well as vulnerable days

The role had a different faces which appeared floating through social medias, a combo image of the preachers and conversion gurus. I am grateful to Sudipto Sen who can imagine me, producer Ashin and Vipul Amrulal Shah Shah who tested me and felt it can make a hallucinations if projected rightly, and Mukesh Chhabra Sir team who brought a new breath in my life getting me various roles which needs efficiency and potential away from what I am.

Khakee was a massive break because I am from Jharkhand and it had it was culturally imbibed. The last exit of Mantri “bade babu peg khatm kar lete hain uske baad maar dijiyega” is a meme now.

I considered before COVID as 1st innings which took the learning stage almost till 33 years of life. COVID was self actualisation and post COVID audiences reviews and acceptance from industry and hard work during COVID to survive, to be sane and healthy and work regularly has brought some relief

About work front: currently busy shooting for a franchise series for children. A big banner project as primary, an awaited release Mujib the Making of a Nation
