Something I thought was mine flew away from me;
an essence I possessed without knowing it was never mine;
a shadow I kept in innocence, held onto in quiet, unknowing.
You were like the rain I failed to relish and the dream I couldn’t forever live in,
for I was destined to be the colour but never your painting.
just like that, you vanished into the past yet to be waned into oblivion.
as you bloomed bright, my petals fell, lingering in the thought of why.
Moreover, I walked away, wanting to turn back, knowing I was the thread you never wanted to grasp.
